Referrals are not necessary however if you have a referral from a doctor or other health practitioner please do bring it along to your initial appointment.

Initial assessment may take up to 1 hr but this may be carried out over two 30 min sessions if that is your preference. Following the initial assessment the speech pathogist will discuss recommended therapy goals with you.

Home practice is essential and parents are considered an integral part of therapy. At the end of each therapy appointment you will be provided with a number of tasks to carry out at home. For older children these may be particular sheets and tasks to complete. For younger children  home practice may be  play based and activities and the goal is to change the way in which you interact with your child.

Therapy for feeding difficulties may involve clinic based feeding assessment and on occasions a home visit may be required to observve your child's eating behaviour in the home environment.

Appointments may be made weekly or fortnightly to suit your budget and your lifestyle. All fees are payable on the day of assessment or therapy. Some private health insurances will cover speech pathology. Please check with your insurer. The clinic has hicaps therefore your clinic may be processed on the day and you will only have to pay the gap.

Patients with complex and chronic conditions may be eligible for Medicare funding speech pathology. Please discuss with your GP if you are  eligible for this.

Debbie is a registered vendor with Medicare Locals and some patients may be eligible for 6 sessions under this scheme.
